This upscale place (white table cloths and big wine glasses) is in a suburban part of Charlotte and the owner is from Spain – close enough to our beloved Italia.
Complimentary bruschetta was a nice beginning touch – fresh tomatoes and good oil.
Wine list is extensive with wines from the whole darned world – I chose a moderately priced Primitivo from Sorento – a good choice though our server insisted on pouring too quickly/too fully – I halted this activity.
My entree of chicken with eggplant and portobello with green vegetable and rice was good – but their iceburg wedge with blue cheese/bacon dressing was exceptional.
Bread was ok but still not whole grain.
Dessert cart is impressive but we didn’t indulge.
An interesting touch – many selections are named after their frequent diners (they fly in from all ove the world per our waiter). Maybe some day they’ll name a dish after me – hopefully some day melanzane.
