When just across the border from NJ into New York, not too far from the Delaware Water Gap and West Point – appropriate that the latter is in the Empire State – Bella Notte is at the top of my list for good cooking! My rolled eggplant with spinach and proscuitto and cheese was remarkable – quite an almost vegetarian dish. My guest’s veal marsala looked great too. Starter salad was conventional but the entree portion clearly needs no additional items.
The menu is extensive and interesting – I suspect that the same care that went into my entree by owner and executive chef Andrew Yeomans is the norm.
Wine list is short but sweet – the Pinot Noir was excellent and reasonable (no wine over $28 per bottle for the reds) though they could use some super Tuscans and maybe a good CA syrah.
