This independently owned Italian restaurant has had the same cook for 15 years – and the cooking is excellent!

I began with an Italian Sangiovese/Cabernet, which was adequate, and drank it with butter/garlic/sodden rolls and a house salad with oil/vinegar dressing; when in a group, they serve the salad family style. The salad includes conventional iceburg but the garbonzos and beet/tomato/cuke make it ok.

Could not resist those rolls with garlic and oil (served in a small soup bowl).

I chose the Chicken Romano which is wrapped with Italian ham and mozzarella and topped with a very flavorful marsala/mushroom sauce. A Kendall Jackson reserve Pinot Noir was a good partner. They also have Chicken Marsala of the standard variety; I have to assume that it too is very good – maybe next time.

The menu is quite extensive and smaller portions are available during lunchtime (at reduced prices). Several combination platters are available for dinner. Also look for four sausage and eggplant entrees.
